In FC6, changing the default driver from vesa to nv (nvidia) driver can cause the mouse pointer to disappear. Mouse pointer may be hidden or cannot be seen. So add the following lines to /etc/X11/xorg.conf to make it as follows :

Option "HWcursor" "false"
Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"

hi,

Coprocessor is a supplementary processor that does additional tasks such as floating point arithmetics or graphics acceleration etc.

You just have to install the chipset drivers to get this installed.

Your info on the driver are very helpful to me. But i have another problem, there is a "unknown device"(Location= on Microsoft ACPI-compliant System). Is there anyway to troubleshoot this? or is there any driver for this "Unknown device"?

NOW I FOUND OUT THAT THE AUDIO DRIVER HAD SOME PROBLEM AND STOPPED

I have a V3000 and I also downgraded from vista to XP professional. Ive found a lot of the drivers required since my lappie didnt come with a CD. but its all in hp notebook dunno its the same or not for compaq, but using windows xp is quite a problem intalling the devices....

im still workin on it manually, update it through the device manager (thats what they said how to install it on XP OS)

2. Use the Search to search for the following driver

I was browsing around for a Driver issue with my lapsy, good that i found a blog like this. Now, this is my state. I formatted my HD and put XP SP2. I could install all the drivers with no issues, unless i found this three Base system device and one unkown device in the Other Devices tree from the Device manager. On checking the properties, i found that the Base system device had issue installing PCI bus 8 function 3 and APCI Compliant device for Unknow device. The found that the installation issue was caused Microsoft UAA. Guess there's a bug... oh yeh, my lapsy, its Compaq Presario V3197TU. Try to help dude.
